Book: IKIGAI: The Japanese secret to a long and happy life

Authors: Hector Garcia & Francesc Miralles

Review:

Long and Happy Life is everyone’s dream. And the book very beautifully covers the aspects of life which can help us achieve a long happy meaningful life for ourselves.

The focus is on the ancient Japanese technique — Ikigai

“He who has a why to live for can bear with almost any how.”

The book is a great example of how simplicity and great attention to detail can just make the reading so impactful and significant.

Inspiring and comforting, this book reveals the life changing tools- like Ichariba Chode, Hara hachi bu, Yuimaaru, Moai, logotherapy, Morito therapy, flow, Techniques for mindfulness, Wabi Sabi..etc all driving us to find the purpose of our life- our Ikigai.

The book isn’t all philosophically driven, it very well incorporates the references of 5 Blue Zones, Case Studies, Real life anecdote.

The extraordinary longevity of the Japanese, especially on the island of Okinawa is explained as well.

In all the book is very inspiring and full of content. The book shows us how to make best use of our lives, lessening the stress factor and enjoy the imperfections of life, nurture friendships, celebrate every moment, find the purpose and go with the flow and remember

`Only staying active will make you want to live a hundred years.‘
